“(CNN) — With tens of thousands of migrants massed in northern Mexico, the expiration overnight of the US Covid-era border restriction policy known as Title 42 has American border communities on edge, worried an already challenging humanitarian crisis will worsen as crossings climb.
My non-profit would like to assist in some kind of way, but our property that was vandalized since November, in January and three weeks ago needs to be secured urgently.
New Mexico Women’s Global Pathways and its sister non Profit Immigrant and Refugee Resource Village of Albuquerque (( 501) c 3) - www.IRRVA.com needs emergency assistance to fortify immediately the 3 in 1 property that my husband and I bought in 2018 to serve refugees, homeless, immigrants and Asylum Seekers.
If and when the New Mexico government accepts migrants We want to be able to accommodate some migrant families, feed, clothe and teach them English alongside youth, adults and children served at the IRRVA non profit.
These migrants can join our upcoming summer day camp program at our property (English as a Second language basics, sewing, gardening, beading for refugee children and youth and help them start own small businesses).
As they recover from their trauma, We can also allow them to cook their own food.
Highest priority would be to provide a welcome mat and feed them. This would need collaboration with the city’s safety department and all other non - profits and government entities to provide a safe and conflict free atmosphere guided by love, respect, dignity, empathy and generosity/grace.
We have a 3 in 1 property and a house that has a kitchen and readily available cooks. We can also clothe them and treat them as worthy human beings.
The city has all available resources and our board of directors is made up of very compassionate people.
Below is an opportunity to raise funds quick with media help of course.
